Do you ever feel the battle of the mind where you have the little devil on one side and the little angel on the other side and you are torn on what to do? Something feels so right, but yet there are voices that are telling you that it is not. You are scared, afraid to take the next step for fear of the unknown. I have experienced this feeling more times than I can count, however, I have learned how to listen to my body for the answers. The holy spirit lives within each and every one of us and when we take the time to be still and listen to the divine Godly widsom, we don’t need to be afraid.

This morning I read something in my daily devotion that said : “Most people are afraid to NOT be like anyone else, many are more comfortable following specified rules than daring to follow the spirits leading. When we follow man made rules, we please people, but when we step out and follow God’s Spirit, we please Him.”

How many of us listen to the crowd, listen to the voices that we think we should follow, but then turn our hearts away from the truly divine spirit that we so desperately want to connect with? Just this past weekend, I followed through on something I had been scared to do for a while. It was a true battlefield of the mind, but after the decision was made, tears rolled down my face and in that moment, I felt divinely guided and centered. I just new it felt right regardless of what other people might think. The more times I experience this feeling and connect with it, I can learn how to follow my heart and inner wisdom.

After this experience I was in a class where we learned about the wisdom and teachings of animals. This meditation experience allowed me to embrace the teachings of these wise beautiful animals created by God. I felt the freedom and courage of spreading my wings and soaring through the sky. A wise teacher shared it appeared that my energy was that of an eagle. Hmm, an eagle I thought.

Eagles teach us to courageously face our fear of the unknown, so we are then able to fly as high as our heart’s joy can take us. Your strengths need to be utilised wisely and remember, to soar like Eagle you must view things with caution, being confident and trusting your abilities. The eagle is also linked with courage. To give up our limited perspectives, to release ourselves from comfortable, familiar thought patterns, even when they don’t appear to be working, and fly into a larger world requires that we are brave enough to enter unknown realms.

What am amazing lesson. When I listened to the spirit within my soul, so many amazing things started to happen. I enabled myself to be more open and willing to what God wanted to share with me. I was brave and courageous enough to face the fear and give up a limiting belief. As a result, I was able to embrace and hold space for my family. My arms were stretched out allowing both me and them to be FREE, but also being right there. It was like all constriction, rules, control were LET GO and my hands were being held wide open with a gentle touch knowing that I would be there to support them. When we follow our hearts and step forward courageously with out fear, God enables amazing things to happen in our lives.
